Why are cats so flexible?

You have probably seen your cat sleeping or doing basically nothing in strange poses.

But how do they do that?

A cat’s spine can rotate more than the spines of most other animals, and their vertebrae have a special, flexible, elastic cushioning on the disks, which gives it even more flexibility. A flexible spine also helps to maintain the speed and grace of cats.

When cats run, their backs contract and extend to give them maximum stride. Their shoulder blades are not attached with bone, but with muscle, and this gives a cat even greater extension and speed. It is also the reason why cats can get themselves into tiny spaces, as they can squeeze their shoulders very tightly together and shove themselves in to a jar.

Cats can jump nine times their height. Their flexible spines and shoulders, and great spring in their legs, are the reasons for this superpower .When cats run, they increase their stride by extending their backs and can stride at least three times their own body length. And when they fall from a high position,(don’t try this at home:-) they have the ability to re-align their bodies and land safely.

These days I’m bored. And you are probably too. Well guess what? Here are the top 6 things you can do with your cat at home.

6. A cardboard box

Yes, you are probably thinking, how is that any fun for ME. Well be creative, make a toy, maybe from wooden sticks and feathers or even just put in a table tennis ball inside. Just play with your cat.

5. Food Hunting

Just like dogs, cats have a natural instinct to hunt for food. You can hide small amounts of food or treats throughout the house, and let your cat discover it with or without showing. Your cat will love it!

4. Watch TV

It is surprising how much cats love TV! You and your cat can sittogether on the couch and watch some TV programs about birds, rodents and fish. It is a great way to relieve boredom and stress for both of you.

3. Catnip Toys

Cats are naturally drawn to catnip. So catnip toys are always a great idea. Go ahead, and try.

2. Feather and String

Waving feather wand toys are great interactive toys for your cat. They mimic the movements of a bird, which give your cat opportunities to “hunt”. The stimulating play requires your cat to leap in the air and try to get the flying object with their paws. Make sure that you select a safe, spacious area of your home so that your cat does not fly into any furniture (because they do that a lot).

These games unleash the predatory nature in cats. Hide behind a couch, bed, or a desk. Cats will stalk you as if you’re their prey. A variation of this would be to attach one of your cat’s stuffed toys to a string so you can wiggle it under the blanket. Most cats can’t resist trying to catch the moving toy.

What are the diffrences between lions and and cats?

Although we have been sharing our lives with cats for thousands of years, our modern day house cats are still considered to be semi-domesticated.

Wild cats are much more aggressive by nature, but, house cats are more likely to form memories and learn, as well as tolerate and even enjoy human interaction and contact, and living with other pets.

Other diffrences:

• Brain size – Although nearly identical in structure, wildcats have slightly larger brains (for their size) than domestic cats.
• Pupil shape – Unlike the vertical, slit pupils of our domesticated felines, large cats have round pupils. According to a study published in the journal Science Advances, this difference is related to lifestyle.
• The purr – Domesticated cats purr but don’t roar, whereas, lions roar but don’t purr due the anatomical differences in throat anatomy between the two.

Similarities:

• Sleep –Both wild and domestic cats spend between 16 to 20 hours a day sleeping.
• Smell – Wild and domesticated cats have great senses of smell and both will use their open mouths to smell better.
• Food – Both wild and domestic cats are obligatory carnivores, which means they rely, primarily, on a meat diet, being much better able to digest meat proteins over plant material.
• Self-grooming – Wild and domesticated cats both groom themselves a lot, anywhere from 30 to 50 percent of their waking hours.
• Stalking – All cats, big and small, will stalk their prey and generally confine their hunting to dusk, nighttime, and dawn.
• Playing – Cats of all shapes and sizes enjoy a good session of laser pointer chase, unraveling a role of string or toilet paper, and even playing in boxes.
• Catnip –  Although mostly due to the genetics of certain family lines, half of both wild and domesticated cat populations will react strongly to and enjoy catnip.
• Territory marking – All types of cats use similar methods to mark their respective territories, including, spraying, face rubbing to distribute their scent via the glands on their faces, to scratching — a tree trunk if you’re a lion, the couch if you’re a cat.
• Vocalizing – Much like the meowing and chirping you hear from your cat, big cats have their own ways of “talking” to one another that can sound similar.

Why are cats so lazy?

If you have a cat, you probably know how lazy they are. And by what I mean they are lazy, why do they sleep 16-18 a day. And yes, it’s completely normal.

Yet no matter how well we understand that a cats are behaving in a perfectly natural, healthy way when they sleep so much, many of us still wonder: why are cats so lazy?

Been to a zoo a number of times? Checked in on the lion or tiger pen? Ever seen one of those large, gorgeous creatures out and about? Chances are, unless you’ve managed to drop in during feeding time, you’ve probably only ever seen one of these attractive beasts snoozing or hanging out lazily in the sun.

Why do lions and tigers sleep so much? And what on earth does that have to do with house cats sleeping for 16-18 hours a day and being so overwhelmingly lazy?

Ever watched a nature documentary of a lion, tiger, panther, or any other wild cat hunting? Those felines really do expend a lot of energy catching their prey. They run shockingly fast, pounce like nobody’s business, and overall have to do quite a lot of strenuous exercise, expending huge amounts of energy while attempting to catch dinner.

Molly is quite strange…

Hello and meow, today I’m going to show you why I think Molly is very strange.

1.When Molly goes to eat she just stands there but when we start pet while she is sitting there,she starts to eat her food.It’s like you have to press a button for her to start eating.

2.She likes to stare at us when we are making or like now when I’m writing now she is staring at me.But when I turn my head she starts to slowly turn her head as well.

3.She likes water from a cup more than from a bowl.

4.She goes to eat every 15 minutes but eats like basically nothing.

5.When I sleep she likes to EAT my feet.

What food can you give to cats?

Hello and meow,today I am going to show you what human food you can give to your cats

1. Meat

Cats are meat eaters. They have to have protein from meat for a strong heart, good vision, and a healthy reproductive system. Cooked beef, chicken, turkey, and small amounts of lean deli meats are a great way to give them that. Raw or old meat could make your cat sick. If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t give it to them.

2. Whole Grains

Oats have a loads of protein per calorie, and they’re easy to make. Many cats like corn, a coarsely ground cornmeal, has a good texture for them. You can try brown rice, barley, and wheat berries, but you may need to mash them first because cats tend to like smaller grains like millet and couscous. Just make sure any grains you give are cooked so your friend can digest them fully. Whole wheat breadcrumbs are also good.

3.Vegtables

Not all cats like vegetables, and even fewer like fruits because felines can’t taste sweet flavors. But they are a rich source of vitamins, and they’re loaded with fiber and water to help with digestion. Try fresh cucumber or cantaloupe, steamed broccoli, or asparagus. But you might have better luck slipping him a veggie burger — really — just be careful the patty doesn’t include onions or garlic. Only I don’t know why would you do that, because that’s pure evil. 

4.Cheese

Cheese is a high-protein snack that’s fine for your cat in small amounts. But the protein in cheese is less “complete” than the kind in meat, fish, and eggs. Also, many cats’ tummies can’t handle dairy, so go easy on the cheesy treats, and don’t give milk.

5.Fish

Fish have a lot of omega-3 fatty acids, which help your cat’s eyes stay sharp as well as help with arthritis, kidney disease, and heart disorders. Canned or cooked fish is fine for a treat. But don’t share your sushi, raw fish isn’t a good idea.

So what has Molly been up to?

Hello and meow, today I am tell you what molly has been up to.

Well she slept a lot, ate a lot, meowed a lot, runned a lot, played a lot. I think this is how a conversation would sound with her:

Molly: Oh, he is here again.

Me:What did you say?

Molly:Oops, I guess you heard that. Anyway, how’s school?

Me:Oh, nothing, it was maths, we did a test…

Molly: (Falls asleep)

Me:I got an A, then we had break and my classmate got into trouble….

Molly:(Goes to eat)

Me:(Suddenly realizing that she is not there) Ei, where did you go?

Molly:Oh sorry. (happy face)

So you can see that it would not have gone well.Anyways, Molly likes to sit and stare for bunch of minutes at us. Then she just kind of collapses on the floor but stares at us until she falls asleep. Well maybe that is normal for a cat.

Why do some cats eat plants?

If you own a cat and then you probably have seen your cat eat your plants and flowers.But why?

The answer is simple,cats are like babies.They explore their world with their mouth as well as by walking. There are some plants that are actually good for your cats and naturally attract them. These include the aforementioned peppermint, lemongrass and valerian root.  Of course, you may discover that your cats are also chomping on your spider plant or enjoying a taste of your flowers as well. This can be frustrating if you are trying to grow and enjoy flowers and plants around your home.But there are flowers that are toxic to cats like lilies and orchids, so if you see your cat chomping on those, you should seek medical care.

Cat is a MIRACLE!

Hello and meow today were going to show you a cat which lived a fall from the 19th FLOOR.

Yep,the 19th floor.

She is a deaf, her name is Sugar and that it.

She and her owner lived on the 19th floor and one day when her owner went to work she left the window gap open.So being a cat, she stepped on the ledge and slipped going 60mph down.There was eldelry woman,who was doing her eyebrows, looking through the window thinking that how awful it was that people were throwing trash.But that was Sugar. Then she
eventually saw what the thing was.She thought it was dying but no.Someone called the animal rescue centre and with the microchip they found out who the owner is.And the cat was with NO BROKEN BONES.

Cats sleeping💤

Hi and meow, this is going to be just sleeping and that’s it.Well maybe some cat facts.but that’s it.

This cat looks like it’s dreaming of something good. And I do hope it is.

I thought that cats hate water and everything to do with it (except for fish), but this photo proves that they may love sinks.
